On June 10, 2008 downtown Lansing was alive with people as a throng of nearly 500 joined Governmental Consultant Services Inc. (GCSI) to help Michigan’s premier lobbying firm commemorate its 25th year in business.
Assorted GCSI clients – who quite literally are the reason for the firm’s longevity and success – brought the party alive with displays. A University of Michigan Jazz Trio provided music throughout the evening.
Not one but two race cars – courtesy of Michigan International Speedway and Chrysler LLC – adorned the building entrance; Kellogg’s Tony the Tiger and Ernie the Keebler Elf gleefully prowled the corridors handing out treats and posing for pictures with guests; the Detroit Medical Center conducted free cholesterol and blood pressure screenings; and the Michigan Distributors and Vendors Association satisfied sweet tooths with an endless supply of candy. Many other GCSI clients got in the act with displays as well. GCSI even participated by handing out 25th anniversary ball caps and chocolates to each guest!
Most importantly, smiles and laughter ruled the evening. Some 90 state lawmakers, many old and new friends and clients helped GCSI ring in the next 25 years.
